The gastric balloon is an oval capsule, which could either be swallowed or ambulatory inserted by gastroscopy. The gastric balloon is then filled with air, gas or saline solution by your medicine in Turkey. The procedure needs approximately 30 minutes, so that the patient can leave the ward on the same day. With the help of the capsule placed in the stomach, a faster saturation feeling should be achieved, which is used as a preventive measure in the dietary change.
Since the balloon is floating on the food, special sensors signaling the brain that the stomach is filled more quickly, and on the other, a closure of the gastric output is prevented. To avoid risks, the gastric balloon is removed after 3-6 months. Otherwise, there is the likelihood that potential skin irritation of the gastric mucosa and associated abdominal pain, nausea and vomiting are the result.
